Governor's Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs

Mission

  1. Protect the rights and promote the interests of the Asian Pacific American community in the State.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the community and the Governor's office, other state agencies, and the General Assembly on relevant issues.
  3. Promote economic development within the Asian community, and to promote international trade between Maryland companies wanting to do business in Asian and Pacific countries.

There are two staff members in this office.

Executive Director's role is to prepare and execute the mission of the Office, assisted by the Executive Administrator. The implementation of the mission of the Office is coordinated with the Governor's Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, a 17 member body filled by gubernatorial appointment. The Commission meets semi-monthly.
