Dear Friends:
Thank you for visiting the Governor's Office and Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs Website.
The Governor's Office and Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, housed in the Maryland Department of Human Resources, serves as an important conduit between Maryland's growing Asian Pacific American population and Maryland State agencies and departments. In conjunction with the Governor's Commission on Hispanic Affairs, the Governor's Commission on Migratory and Seasonal Farm Labor, the Maryland Commission for Women, the Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs and the Office of the Executive Coordinator for the Governor's Commissions look to aid, assist and support the State of Maryland's underserved and underutilized communities.
The Governor's Office on Asian Pacific American Affairs, the Commission and the community assesses the needs and promotes the agenda for the benefit of the Asian Pacific American community. The Governor's Commission serves in an important advisory role to the Governor on issues of importance and concern to the Asian Pacific American community. The Commission has three subcommittees that focus on the needs of Maryland's growing Asian Pacific American population: Health, Education and Housing; Business, Finance, and Economic Development; and Social, Cultural and Community Outreach. Each subcommittee highlights areas in which Asian Pacific American's have an important role and placed upon an indelible mark upon Maryland.
The Office and Commission rely heavily upon the participation of communities throughout the state, and strive for increased participation. We look forward to hearing from you. We look forward to working with all of Maryland's communities and hope the site serves you well.
Sincerely,
The Governor's Office and Commission
on Asian Pacific American Affairs
